Product Owner I (Fintech)

What you will do

• Manage the development team's backlog, including stories, bugs, tasks, technical debt, and feature decomposition work.
• Translate product features into user stories with functional acceptance criteria, business rules, UX copy, validations, error states, and testable behaviors.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Designers, Engineering Leads, and QA to align scope, sequencing, estimation, dependencies, and release timelines.
• Enforce the Definition of Ready and provide final functional acceptance for individual stories.
• Manage feature flag documentation and cleanup tickets, and support observability requirements for high-risk features.
• Participate in refinement, planning, release verification, support triage, backlog prioritization, and cross-team delivery coordination.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent training and experience.
• Typically at least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in business analysis, product ownership, or a similar role within a software product organization.
• Direct experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
• Ability to collaborate with engineering, UX, product design, QA, technical writing, and learning teams.

Nice to have

• Experience in Agile environments such as Scrum or Kanban with hands-on backlog management.
• Experience in payments, POS, or fintech product domains.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Experience translating UX or Product Design mockups into functional requirements.
• CSPO, PSPO, or equivalent Product Owner certification.
