Software Engineer, Lead (Java/AWS)

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end delivery of features and services from architecture and design through deployment and production support.
• Design and build scalable, resilient, fault-tolerant services and APIs for dealer and customer-facing experiences.
• Own feature-level architecture for capabilities such as prequalification, pricing, incentives, and funding.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance on code quality, design decisions, engineering standards, and resiliency practices.
• Coordinate functional, integration, performance, and production-readiness activities.
• Partner with Product, UX, and cross-functional teams while mentoring engineers and contributing to hiring and team culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience with ownership of production features or services.
• Hands-on Java development with modern frameworks such as Spring Boot.
• Experience with REST, GraphQL, event-driven APIs, AWS services including ECS and Fargate, serverless components, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience building and supporting highly available customer-facing applications, distributed systems, and full-stack solutions involving React, Next.js, or Vue.
• Experience with automated, functional, integration, and performance testing, production troubleshooting, observability, root-cause analysis, and performance optimization.

Nice to have

• Experience in automotive, lending, financial services, digital commerce, dealer platforms, or loan-origination systems.
• Familiarity with Splunk, Dynatrace, CloudWatch, or similar observability platforms.
• Contributions to engineering standards, platform modernization, developer experience, or engineering culture.
