Sr. Compliance Specialist (Healthcare)

Location: Remote

Salary: $25.00–$28.00 per hour during the first year of employment.

What you will do

• Conduct and respond to internal and external audits across all jurisdictions.
• Review legal documents, subpoena medical records, and handle general record requests.
• Investigate Fraud, Waste & Abuse claims and recommend next steps.
• Assist with conflict reporting and collaborate with Finance to resolve conflicts.
• Serve as a resource for escalated compliance concerns across active states.
• Perform quality assurance reviews and other compliance duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of healthcare industry experience, or an associate degree and at least 5 years of experience.
• Extensive knowledge of Medicaid regulations.
• Experience with exclusion screening and background checks.
• Ability to apply regulatory knowledge and business processes to complex compliance matters.
• Strong judgment, attention to detail, organization, and ability to work with limited supervision.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of billing and coding.
• Prior experience with internal and external audits.
• Experience handling complex matters independently and taking initiative.
