Staff Software Engineer (Platform Team)

Location: Remote within the United States, with up to 10% travel as needed; preference for candidates local to American Fork, Utah. Not currently hiring individuals residing in Delaware, Hawaii, North Dakota, Rhode Island, Vermont, Puerto Rico, or other US territories.

Salary: $140,000–$170,000 per year, plus an eligible bonus target.

What you will do

• Design and build the internal platform layer, including infrastructure and CI/CD tooling used by more than 30 development groups and 180 services.
• Develop scalable full-stack solutions with integrated AI capabilities, primarily using Python and increasingly Node.
• Own observability tooling and vendor integrations, primarily with Dynatrace and external vendor platforms.
• Support and integrate AWS infrastructure across regions.
• Provide technical oversight through systems analysis, architectural standards, policy recommendations, and cross-team best practices.
• Mentor engineers and establish reusable software patterns that improve platform reliability and scalability.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience.
• Strong understanding of architecture patterns and company-wide infrastructure.
• Experience with large language models or similar AI technologies for generating, interpreting, and improving codebases.
• Expertise in unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience owning a domain, defining interdependent cross-team roadmaps, and providing technical leadership.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• AWS, Kubernetes, or Terraform certifications.
