Fund Accountant (Private Credit)

Location: Permanent work from home with working hours aligned to 9:00 AM–6:00 PM EST/EDT, Toronto business hours, Monday to Friday.

Compensation: Hourly pay rate established based on performance in the application process.

What you will do

• Record and reconcile investment, portfolio, inter-affiliate, capital stock, currency, and derivative transactions.
• Maintain fund-specific metrics, performance calculations, and investor reporting.
• Prepare and review IFRS, US GAAP, management, and ad-hoc financial reports.
• Reconcile cash balances, monitor bank activity, and track revolving credit facilities and inter-entity cash flows.
• Support accounting for currency hedging strategies, including forward contracts and swaps.
• Investigate discrepancies and support regulatory, tax, system enhancement, and process improvement projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in financial services, private credit, or alternative investments.
• Strong general accounting, reconciliation, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with general accounting systems and strong Excel skills.
• Working knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP reporting standards.
• Clear communication and the ability to resolve discrepancies accurately while meeting deadlines.

• Experience with fund accounting systems or platforms.
• Exposure to private credit or alternative investment structures.
