TL;DR
Staff Software Engineer (Mobile) (Swift/Kotlin, Quality Engineering): Shaping quality and reliability architecture across mobile clients and backend/API layers with an accent on testability, release confidence, and cross-team technical leadership. Focus on building quality gates in CI/CD and store-deployment pipelines, controlling device and OS fragmentation and test flakiness, and defining responsible AI-assisted engineering workflows.
Location: Warsaw, Poland; remote options are available within Poland.

What you will do
- Set and own quality and reliability strategy across backend APIs, contracts, and native iOS and Android clients.
- Design testability practices, release gates, deployment-pipeline controls, device and OS coverage, and flakiness management using BrowserStack and GitLab CI.
- Resolve cross-team quality and reliability issues and contribute hands-on through prototypes, tooling, reference implementations, and incident resolution.
- Lead technical direction across several teams, mentor senior engineers, and promote quality ownership earlier in the engineering workflow.
- Define quality metrics and gates, analyze trends, and communicate engineering risk in business terms to engineering and product leaders.
- Establish AI adoption workflows, governance, data-security standards, and risk-management practices for engineering and production-facing work.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience and experience operating at Staff, Principal, Tech Lead, or Architect level with impact beyond one team.
- Proven ownership of quality and reliability strategy, shift-left practices, and technical or process change with measurable outcomes.
- Strong hands-on engineering skills, including reading, reviewing, and writing production-quality code.
- Experience using and critically assessing AI in engineering, including its risks.
- Fluent English required.
- Experience with native mobile applications using Swift and/or Kotlin, BrowserStack, and GitLab CI is strongly valued.
Nice to have
- Snapshot testing with tools such as Swift Snapshot Testing or Paparazzi.
- Mock-based testing standards, Appium, and AI-assisted engineering or testing workflows.
- Logistics or e-commerce industry experience.
- Polish fluency.
- ISTQB Advanced Level – Test Automation Engineer certification.
