Salary: $160,000–$246,000 USD per year

hirify.global is developing the Terran R launch vehicle, rocket engines, and manufacturing systems to expand access to orbital launch capacity.

What you will do

  • Lead a large, multidisciplinary turbomachinery engineering team.
  • Direct the design, analysis, development, evaluation, and production of turbomachinery products.
  • Set team and department roadmaps supporting Terran R development.
  • Drive technical excellence, delivery against ambitious schedules, and collaborative project completion.
  • Develop team members, manage performance, and lead engineering recruitment.
  • Support turbomachinery development through qualification and flight programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, technology, mathematics, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of relevant engineering experience in a complex system development environment.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing engineering teams.
  • Experience with turbomachinery development.
  • Experience applying fluid, thermal, structural, and mechanical design fundamentals.
  • Ability to deliver on ambitious schedules using unconventional and creative solutions when necessary.

Nice to have

  • Master’s or doctorate degree in a relevant technical field.
  • Experience with FEA, CFD, and CAD software.
  • Experience designing turbomachinery components such as inducers, impellers, turbines, diffusers, bearings, and seals.
  • Experience developing turbopumps for liquid-propulsion rocket engines.
  • Experience working in a flight development program.
