Python Software Engineer (Trading Platform)

What you will do

• Manage the day-to-day technology requirements of proprietary trading systems.
• Expand in-house infrastructure to accelerate trading and quantitative research workflows.
• Evaluate new technologies and deprecate legacy code to improve the technology stack.
• Collaborate with engineers, traders, and researchers to design custom frameworks and end-user solutions.
• Write performance-sensitive Python code and user-friendly APIs for in-house data analysis infrastructure.
• Lead design discussions and conduct code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience building demanding, live systems in Python.
• In-depth knowledge of modern Python standards, including Python 3.11 onwards.
• Knowledge of the Python ecosystem, including third-party libraries, packaging, and built-in libraries.
• Understanding of data structures, CI tools such as TeamCity or Jenkins, and Linux.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to mentor others and lead small projects.

Nice to have

• Experience in the trading industry.
• Familiarity with the scientific Python stack.
• Understanding of modern Python package management.
