Python Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Flex/Hybrid in London, United Kingdom or Amsterdam, Netherlands

What you will do

• Build and expand data pipelines and event-streaming functionality for Cboe Europe’s equities exchange.
• Develop trade reporting facilities and other trading platforms.
• Design and build reliable, testable Python systems supporting trading operations.
• Analyze requirements and implement features in complex projects with business development, sales, and engineering teams.
• Participate in R&D projects, evaluate new technologies, and debug engineering and operational issues.
• Provide production support for trading systems, respond to incidents, and contribute to post-mortem actions.

Requirements

• Solid knowledge of Python, algorithms, and data structures.
• Commitment to writing testable and maintainable code.
• Knowledge of SQL and the ability to compose complex queries.
• Basic Linux knowledge.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
• Availability for a hybrid role in London or Amsterdam and participation in a production support rota.

Nice to have

• Experience with TDD, BDD, or other testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Familiarity with Apache Kafka, Apache Airflow, or Java.
