Head of Platform (AI Cloud)

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands. Willingness to travel across multiple geographies is required. Applicants must be authorized to work in the country in which they apply.

What you will do

• Manage and develop a platform engineering team while aligning delivery with technical and commercial priorities.
• Own the platform strategy and roadmap across developer tooling, compute orchestration, internal APIs, observability, and self-service capabilities.
• Define reliability standards, SLOs, and SLAs, and improve availability, performance, and incident response.
• Partner with infrastructure, data centre operations, product engineering, security, compliance, and finance to evolve the platform at scale.
• Lead decisions on architecture, scope, resourcing, platform trade-offs, and production escalations.
• Turn ambiguous goals into structured initiatives with clear ownership, milestones, and measurable outcomes.

Requirements

• Track record of building and operating platform engineering functions at scale.
• Entrepreneurial experience creating new functions, structures, or standards in early-stage or ambiguous environments.
• Deep technical fluency in platform and infrastructure engineering, including Kubernetes, bare-metal compute orchestration, cloud-native architecture, observability, CI/CD, and internal developer platforms.
• Familiarity with data centre infrastructure, capacity, deployment sequencing, and operational trade-offs.
• Experience working with senior technical and executive stakeholders on architectural and resourcing decisions.
• Authorization to work in the country of application and willingness to travel are required.
