Director of Software Engineering (Platform)

What you will do

• Lead the design, scaling, and reliability of the core infrastructure platform supporting health data, member data, clinics, and internal product systems.
• Establish a scalable and secure Azure infrastructure platform.
• Improve the platform to enable faster product deployment cycles.
• Increase system reliability and reduce operational incidents affecting clinic operations and patient care.
• Build and scale a high-performance platform engineering team of 10–15 engineers initially.
• Define the long-term platform strategy in partnership with Product and Data.

Requirements

• Proven experience building and scaling large-scale infrastructure systems.
• Experience building infrastructure as a platform with a PaaS mindset or operating SRE-level systems.
• Strong hands-on engineering background with the ability to code and design systems.
• Experience scaling infrastructure across regions.
• Experience using AI tooling platforms such as Claude Code.
• Experience leading managers and scaling multi-team engineering structures.

Nice to have

• Deep experience with the Microsoft stack, including Azure, Cosmos DB, and Docker.
• Experience supporting data platform infrastructure.
• Experience in highly regulated or mission-critical environments.
• Exposure to AI platform development.
