Group Portfolio & Construction Lending Manager

Location: Chicago, IL, United States. Legal eligibility to work at the specified location is required. Periodic travel for project meetings and site inspections may be required.

Salary: $150,000–$190,000 per year, based on experience, qualifications, and location. Incentive compensation and a discretionary bonus may be available.

What you will do

• Lead portfolio management, reporting, analytics, and forecasting for the U.S. Commercial Real Estate platform.
• Oversee development and construction risk across the floating-rate real estate lending portfolio.
• Approve escalated loan and escrow disbursement recommendations and monitor early warning indicators.
• Ensure compliance with credit approvals, legal documentation, underwriting assumptions, insurance, and surety bonding requirements.
• Coordinate with Risk Management, Finance, Loan Services, Relationship Managers, syndication partners, title companies, and consultants.
• Manage staff, allocate resources, improve operational workflows, and provide executive-level reporting.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in banking or a financial institution, including 3+ years in management or supervision.
• 5–7 years of commercial real estate experience in portfolio management, construction lending, and/or data analytics.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, Economics, Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Advanced knowledge of financial analysis, modeling, and data aggregation, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, relationship management, and leadership skills.
• Legal eligibility to work in the United States is required.

Nice to have

• MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
• Familiarity with construction and development software for scheduling, lease analysis, or database management.
