TL;DR
Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Integration & Test (Aerospace): Building and testing Terran R engine or vehicle hardware, build flows, work instructions, and scalable manufacturing systems with an accent on manufacturability, repeatability, product quality, and integrated system readiness. Focus on resolving hardware non-conformances, conducting root cause analysis, supporting pressurized leak checks and structural proof testing, and coordinating design, supply chain, production, and test teams.

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite manufacturing and integration work

Salary: $130,000–$194,000 USD annually

What you will do

  • Own engine or vehicle hardware from design release through build, test, and delivery.
  • Develop and release build flows, work instructions, and test procedures for first builds and maturing programs.
  • Support first-article builds and provide hands-on floor support during manufacturing and testing.
  • Investigate hardware issues, resolve non-conformances, and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate design, supply chain, production, and test teams on part readiness, tooling, schedules, and handoffs.
  • Help develop manufacturing infrastructure, including tooling strategies, ERP/MES workflows, and production documentation standards.

Requirements

  • Engineering or related technical degree and 6+ years of hands-on experience building and testing hardware in a manufacturing or integration environment.
  • Experience with hardware issue investigation, non-conformance resolution, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of general assembly and test procedures, tolerance stack-up analysis, structural proof testing, and pressurized leak checks.
  • Ability to collaborate across design, manufacturing, supply chain, and test functions.
  • Proficiency in GD&T, CAD, and basic design or test analysis.
  • Experience in at least two areas such as LOX cleanliness, leak checking, sensor checkouts, tube bending, tool design, crane operations, or subassembly builds.

Nice to have

  • Experience with new aerospace product introduction or transitioning hardware from prototype to production.
  • Experience authoring and executing test procedures or serving as a test conductor for integrated system verification.
  • Familiarity with hazardous operations, fluid system safety, or pressurized and high-risk test environments.
  • Experience with lean environments, vendor engagement, tool development, or leading small teams through ambiguous build or test efforts.
