Director, Finance Supply Chain and Material Management (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Lead the Supply Chain Finance team and set strategic direction for inventory financial planning, materials spend management, and manufacturing cost analysis.
• Improve financial management across finance, supply chain, and materials management while tracking changes to the vehicle bill of materials.
• Establish frameworks for monitoring inventory movements and ensuring alignment with MRP systems.
• Oversee BOM-to-MRP comparisons and reconciliations, investigate manufacturing consumption variances, and drive corrective actions.
• Build cost models incorporating cost-reduction curves, product blocks, flight units, and manufacturing scaling assumptions.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to validate BOM assumptions, cost drivers, and manufacturing rate projections.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in FP&A, Supply Chain Finance, or Cost Accounting in aerospace, manufacturing, or related industries.
• Deep understanding of MRP/MES systems, BOM structures, inventory management, and manufacturing cost accounting.
• Experience building financial models with cost-reduction curves, learning curves, and manufacturing scaling assumptions.
• Strong experience with variance analysis, cost reconciliation, root cause analysis, and resolving data integrity issues in ERP/MRP environments.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical explanation skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with additive manufacturing, DED, or composite materials.
• Experience with insourcing and outsourcing transitions or make-versus-buy financial analysis.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases for ERP data analysis and validation.
• Background in high-growth startup or scale-up environments.
