Sr. Business Analyst (Data Engineering)

Location: Overland Park, Kansas, USA; eligible for hire in select U.S. locations. Work is scheduled from 8am–5pm local time, Monday through Friday, with less than 5% travel.

Salary: $105,000–$130,000 per year

What you will do

• Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and technical requirements for data engineering initiatives.
• Translate requirements into epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and functional specifications.
• Manage end-to-end project delivery, including plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies, risks, and cross-functional coordination.
• Manage Agile delivery in JIRA through backlog prioritization, sprint planning, story refinement, progress tracking, and ceremonies.
• Collaborate with Product, Data Engineering, QA, Architecture, business stakeholders, and leadership to maintain alignment.
• Coordinate UAT, defect management, release planning, deployment readiness, hypercare, governance, and continuous delivery improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Senior Business Analyst, Project Coordinator, or in a similar technology or data role.
• Experience gathering requirements and translating them into actionable technical deliverables.
• Strong experience managing multiple projects in Agile/Scrum environments and using JIRA.
• Knowledge of SDLC, ETL/ELT, data warehousing, cloud data platforms, APIs, SQL, reporting solutions, and stakeholder management.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare, or commercialization environments.
• Familiarity with Snowflake, BigQuery, dbt, Qlik, AWS, Tableau, Power BI, or similar technologies.
• Experience with release management, executive dashboards, project governance, regulated environments, compliance, and data privacy.
• PMP, PMI-ACP, Certified Scrum Master, CBAP, or equivalent certification.
