AI Principal Engineer

Location: Madrid, Spain

Salary: €55,300–€78,800 gross per year, with possible performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Partner with business teams to identify workflow inefficiencies, automation opportunities, and high-impact AI use cases.
• Design, prototype, and deploy AI-powered productivity tools using LLMs, copilots, automation pipelines, and generative AI services.
• Build and orchestrate agentic and multi-agent AI workflows for real-world business processes.
• Deliver reliable, usable, production-ready solutions and measure their business impact and adoption.
• Create reusable AI frameworks and platforms that accelerate future enterprise deployments.
• Translate business problems into scalable engineering solutions while collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• 7–10+ years of experience in software engineering, machine learning, or applied AI.
• Experience designing and deploying production-grade systems in cloud environments.
• Experience building and deploying AI/ML systems, preferably involving LLMs or generative AI.
• Experience with APIs, data pipelines, front-end interfaces, distributed systems, scalable architectures, reliability, security, and system design.
• Knowledge of data engineering, analytics workflows, enterprise AI governance, security, and compliance.
• Strong communication, ownership, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with ERP, CRM, workflow tools, Azure AI, Microsoft Copilot, or the broader Microsoft ecosystem.
• Background in forward-deployed or solutions engineering, consulting-style roles, process optimization, automation, or digital transformation.
