Senior Software Engineer (Embedded Software)

Location: Hybrid in Acton, Massachusetts, United States

Salary: $128,000–$191,975 annual base salary for U.S.-based positions, with potential incentive compensation.

hirify.global is a medical device company developing the Omnipod insulin management platform and related wearable drug-delivery technologies.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, document, and maintain embedded software for new and existing medical products.
• Own assigned work end to end, including implementation, debugging, documentation, verification, and defect resolution.
• Analyze complex software and system issues across components, disciplines, and product generations, and drive root-cause resolution.
• Ensure software designs and development activities comply with company policies and medical device regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, Manufacturing, software quality, software, and hardware teams.
• Participate in design and code reviews, mentor teammates, and provide technical leadership when appropriate.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience, or a related master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong programming skills in C and/or C++ and hands-on embedded systems experience.
• Experience developing embedded software for ARM, TI, MSP, or similar microcontroller-based systems.
• Ability to contribute to a shared codebase and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to lead technically when needed through mentoring, reviewing, or guiding design areas while remaining hands-on.
• Ability to work in the hybrid role location in Acton, Massachusetts.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of I2C, SPI, Flash, EEPROM, USB, or wireless protocols such as BLE.
• Experience in medical devices or another regulated industry.
• Knowledge of operating system concepts, threading, mutual exclusion, interrupts, and deadlock avoidance.
• Experience with RTOS, real-time systems, object-oriented design, Agile, or other SDLC practices.
• Ability to read electrical schematics.
