Executive Director, FICC eTrading Development (Java)

Location: New York, NY; hybrid work arrangement. Candidates must be legally eligible to work at the specified location and may need a valid work or study permit.

Salary: $200,000–$290,000 per year, plus potential incentive compensation and discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Design, develop, maintain, and lead delivery of high-performance electronic US Treasury and Rates trading systems.
• Provide technical direction, mentorship, and guidance on software design, coding standards, and architecture.
• Collaborate with traders, product managers, business analysts, risk and compliance teams, QA, DevOps, and operations.
• Build reliable, scalable, resilient, and low-latency solutions supporting trading and risk management.
• Drive code reviews, automated testing, continuous integration, system performance improvements, and scalability initiatives.
• Lead production incident resolution, root cause analysis, project planning, estimation, and resource allocation.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Java, including multithreading, collections, concurrency, and hands-on technical leadership.
• Experience developing, maintaining, or supporting electronic fixed-income trading platforms.
• Knowledge of FIX, MQ, JMS, or similar messaging protocols; RESTful or SOAP web services; and low-latency programming.
• Proficiency with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, SQL, relational or NoSQL databases, distributed systems, microservices, caching, and clustering.
• Experience with JUnit, Mockito or similar testing tools, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, TeamCity, and Git.
• Knowledge of Rates products, fixed-income trading lifecycles, order routing, execution and booking flows, and pre-trade and post-trade risk controls.
