Focus on analyzing failures with SEM, TEM, and FIB, improving yield through DOE and statistical analysis, and transferring qualified processes to manufacturing.

What you will do

  • Develop and optimize BEOL processes, including metallization, tungsten vias, dielectrics, CMP, and passivation.
  • Define process flows across deposition, etch, cleaning, and planarization steps.
  • Perform reliability qualification with the reliability team, including automotive qualification activities.
  • Analyze failures using SEM, TEM, FIB, and electrical test structures.
  • Conduct design of experiments and statistical analysis to improve yield and process robustness.
  • Collaborate with design teams on application specifications, design rules, layout guidelines, technology roadmaps, scaling, and manufacturing transfer.

Requirements

  • MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field.
  • 3–10+ years of semiconductor process development experience focused on BEOL.
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and industry standards, including deposition, etch, lithography, and metrology.
  • Hands-on experience with BEOL metallization, dielectric, etch, and CMP process development.
  • Strong understanding of BEOL reliability physics, including electromigration, stress migration, and time-dependent dielectric breakdown.
  • Experience with AEC-Q100 automotive qualification, knowledge of low-k integration and advanced BEOL, and strong analytical and communication skills.
