Lead Project Engineer (Defense)

Location: Santa Clarita, California, United States — onsite

Salary: $108,900–$145,200 USD annually, plus bonus

What you will do

• Lead execution of key activities across complex, mission-critical defense programs.
• Develop and maintain Integrated Master Schedules, including risks, dependencies, and critical paths.
• Provide schedule insights and program analysis to support data-driven decisions.
• Coordinate engineering teams in a matrixed, cross-functional environment to achieve milestones.
• Support technical reviews, test strategy development, validation, system integration, and production readiness.
• Participate in customer technical discussions and program reviews while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• 8–12+ years of engineering experience, preferably in defense or aerospace programs.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Project and Integrated Master Schedule management.
• Experience with scope, schedule, delivery execution, risk management, and cost tracking.
• Systems-level understanding and the ability to work across engineering disciplines.
• Strong communication, organizational, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or relevant certifications.
• Experience with Earned Value Management Systems.
