VP/General Manager - Defense Manufacturing

Location: Onsite in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Applications are accepted from US and Canadian citizens willing to relocate to Mississauga.

Salary: $275,000–$300,000 plus short- and long-term incentives.

Indal is an $85M business unit within Curtiss-Wright’s Naval & Power Segment and EMS division, supplying aircraft handling and array handling systems to domestic and international military customers.

What you will do

• Lead all business operations with full P&L responsibility, including revenue growth, profitability, cash generation, customer satisfaction, and talent development.
• Control business performance, operating plans, costs, quality, safety, waste reduction, and on-time delivery.
• Drive business development through geographic and target-market expansion, new product development, and product introduction.
• Provide direction for applications and R&D engineering, product concepts, technology road maps, long-range planning, and sustaining engineering.
• Resolve technical, people, and production issues while improving delivery lead times and operational efficiency.
• Maintain relationships with customers, sales representatives, suppliers, and third-party providers, and manage regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business, or equivalent; an advanced degree in Business Management or Marketing is preferred.
• 10–12 years of direct defense-industry experience managing business functions.
• Experience running complex, multi-product and multi-value-stream businesses and manufacturing operations.
• Experience with international supply chains, multinational operations, sales and marketing, working capital improvement, and acquisition integration.
• Knowledge of process-industry regulations and standards, including ASME, ISO 9000, API, PED, CSA, and CSQL.
• Understanding of machining, assembly, testing, production safety, strategic planning, financial targets, talent development, and customer service.

Nice to have

• Advanced education in Business Management, Marketing, or an equivalent field.
• Experience with acquisition integration.
• Experience operating in low-cost supply countries, specifically China.
