Country Operations Lead, Canada (Robotics & AI)

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid

Salary: CA$150,000–CA$200,000 annually, plus equity

What you will do

• Own end-to-end Canadian operations, including data collection sites, annotation operations, and robotics and hardware deployment programs.
• Set and deliver country-level targets for throughput, quality, cost, and on-time delivery while managing the budget, vendor spend, and operating margin.
• Hire, develop, and lead the local organization, including operations managers, project leads, field operators, recruiters, and support staff.
• Own in-country customer program delivery and align local execution with HQ strategic project and deployment teams.
• Build local SOPs, playbooks, quality frameworks, operating cadences, and workforce management processes.
• Manage vendors, partners, compliance, local risk, customer representation, and market intelligence across Canada.

Requirements

• 3+ years of operations leadership experience in Canada.
• Deep knowledge of Canadian business culture, talent markets, regulations, and vendor ecosystems across key provinces.
• Fluent business English required.
• Experience building and leading in-country teams of 50+ people.
• Ownership of a country-level P&L or operating budget.
• Experience hiring, developing, and managing local management teams.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling operations in robotics, hardware, manufacturing, logistics, marketplaces, BPO, or data services.
• Experience building a Canadian operation from scratch or scaling an existing site from tens to hundreds of people.
• Background in AI/ML data operations, robotics, automation, or other operationally complex programs.
• French fluency, mixed workforce leadership, and local vendor or university partnership experience.
• Experience collaborating globally across time zones and working as a player-coach.
