TL;DR
Sr. Mgr., Systems & Test Engineering (Aerospace): Managing systems engineering and product testing for flight-control and utility actuation systems with an accent on requirements, system modeling, safety, reliability, and qualification testing. Salary: $150,600–$200,000 annually plus bonus opportunity

Curtiss-Wright Actuation Division is a commercial and military aerospace business unit focused on designing, manufacturing, and servicing high-power motion control systems and components.

What you will do

  • Manage and provide direction to a systems engineering department of approximately 10–12 team members.
  • Oversee system modeling, requirements management, system safety, reliability, and product testing.
  • Lead technical communication with customers, including project progress and issue resolution.
  • Develop technical proposals, bid materials, and non-recurring engineering estimates.
  • Allocate engineering resources, establish department governance, and track key performance indicators.
  • Develop technical talent, apply servant leadership practices, and deliver results on time and within budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or equivalent engineering is required.
  • 15–20 years of experience in aerospace systems engineering and test management is required.
  • Experience managing an engineering department with solid-line reporting and allocating resources to project teams.
  • Experience with requirements-based aerospace development, including ARP-4754, DO-254, DO-178, and DO-160.
  • Experience with DOORS or equivalent requirements-management tools and Simulink or equivalent system-level physics-modeling tools.
  • Experience with FMEA, FMECA, FTA, ARP-4761, root-cause and corrective-action methods, FAA/EASA problem-report guidance, and Safety of Flight or qualification test campaigns.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or equivalent engineering.
  • Knowledge of LabView or equivalent test tools.
