Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer (Aerospace)

Salary: $86,100–$124,300 per year

What you will do

• Plan, design, implement, verify, and coordinate safety-certified embedded software for aerospace actuation applications.
• Develop software architectures, requirements, standards, plans, design documentation, test environments, and verification plans.
• Implement bare-metal firmware on target devices for motion, motor control, and power conversion applications.
• Lead architecture, design, code, merge, and debugging reviews while mentoring embedded software engineers.
• Support hardware/software integration, lab bring-up, low-level debugging, and verification using schematics, datasheets, and laboratory equipment.
• Collaborate with process assurance, project leadership, vendors, customers, and certification personnel on technical requirements, schedules, and certification objectives.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or software engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in embedded software development.
• Experience with DO-178C / ED-12C software certification and regulated aerospace applications.
• Advanced proficiency in embedded C/C++ for bare-metal applications, including actuator and motor controller development.
• At least 3 years leading embedded software architecture, major feature design, platform design, or end-to-end embedded systems initiatives; expertise in hardware/software integration and low-level debugging.
