EMD, a Curtiss-Wright business unit, designs, manufactures, tests, and supports critical-function pumps, motors, generators, seals, control rod drive mechanisms, and power conditioning electronics for the U.S. Navy and commercial nuclear industry.

What you will do

• Perform routine inspections of components and parts using drawings, specifications, written procedures, and established inspection techniques.
• Inspect, verify, and release shipments while evaluating base materials and welds for type, hardness, surface finish, visual condition, and penetrant test results.
• Review vendor reports for correctness, completeness, and compliance.
• Prepare inspection reports, record inspection data, maintain quality documentation, and audit inspection records.
• Verify that hardware and documentation are inspected, cleaned, packed, and packaged according to specifications.
• Report nonconforming conditions and maintain a clean, orderly workplace.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required due to DoD requirements.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD security clearances and approvals.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a four-year machine shop or inspection apprenticeship program, or equivalent.
• Ability to read blueprints for machined parts and identify dimensional inspection techniques.
• At least two years of machining or inspection experience, or equivalent.
