Revenue Accounting Manager (Manufacturing)

Location: Remote, based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD 103,900–138,500 plus bonus opportunity

Manufacturing and design operations in Ottawa produce rugged, high-quality, small-batch products for military requirements using SAP and MES systems for component traceability.

What you will do

• Manage revenue recognition for customer contracts, including project-related analysis, recording, reporting, and forecasting using percentage-of-completion recognition.
• Review monthly general ledger and project-data reconciliations for revenue-related accounts.
• Work with Business Unit Controllers and Program Managers to assess estimated costs at completion, challenge assumptions, and monitor actual costs against budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare revenue reporting, variance analysis, and reporting packages for business leaders, senior management, and Corporate.
• Prepare contract accounting memos and checklists in accordance with US GAAP.
• Support process improvements, internal and external audits, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc analysis.

Requirements

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in Accounting or Business.
• 5–7 years of related experience, preferably in manufacturing or a high-technology environment.
• Good understanding of US GAAP or IFRS, general accounting, and cost accounting principles.
• Superior Excel skills and strong written and verbal communication.
• Experience with revenue and cost analysis, audits, analytical problem-solving, and process improvement.
• Technical ability with integrated ERP systems, preferably S/4HANA or SAP, and the ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
