Structures Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: San Francisco; in-office work five days a week is essential

What you will do

• Design and analyze composite and metallic structures for high-performance aircraft.
• Support structural layout and configuration development with guidance from senior engineers.
• Create CAD models and drawings and perform hand calculations and basic FEA.
• Conduct trade studies balancing performance, weight, cost, and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with aerodynamics, propulsion, manufacturing, and test teams to define and support structural requirements.
• Participate in design reviews, manufacturing support, testing, documentation, and configuration control.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in structural design and analysis.
• Experience with composite and metallic materials, structural design principles, and manufacturing processes.
• Hands-on proficiency with CAD tools such as NX, SolidWorks, or similar.
• Exposure to hand calculations and FEA tools such as Nastran, Abaqus, or Ansys.
• Strong problem-solving, initiative, collaboration, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.
