TL;DR
Senior Launch Fluids Engineer (Aerospace): Designing, fabricating, operating, and maintaining Terran R launch pad and support facilities with an accent on propellant and gas infrastructure, fluid system modeling, pipe stress analysis, and commissioning. Focus on designing complex launch ground systems, solving multidisciplinary fluid and thermal engineering challenges, and safely operating high-pressure and cryogenic systems.

Location: Cape Canaveral, Florida, United States; on-site work at a government partner location is required.

Salary: $124,000–$170,500 USD annually, plus equity.

What you will do

  • Design, fabricate, operate, and maintain Terran R launch pad and support facilities.
  • Design propellant and gas infrastructure, including fluid systems, process and instrumentation diagrams, component lists, and fabrication drawings.
  • Perform fluid system modeling and pipe stress analysis.
  • Develop detailed work instructions for launch pad systems.
  • Supervise facility construction activation, commissioning, and initial operations.
  • Solve technically challenging multidisciplinary problems under program pressure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
  • At least four years of combined engineering experience.
  • Strong fundamentals in thermal and fluid analyses.
  • Working knowledge of valves, regulators, and instrumentation.
  • Successful completion of a US government background check is required for clearance to work on-site at the government partner location.

Nice to have

  • Experience operating complex fluid systems involving high-pressure gas, cryogenic fluids, flammable liquids and gases, and hydraulics.
  • Knowledge of launch vehicle ground support equipment and operations, including cryogenic tanks, pumps, valves, and instrumentation.
  • Proficiency with ANSYS or piping analysis software such as Caesar or Bentley AutoPIPE.
  • Experience working with DOD, USAF, and NASA personnel.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet aggressive deadlines, and communicate effectively with internal and external teams.
