Insurance Service Representative - Madison East, WI (Insurance)

Location: Madison East, Wisconsin, United States; onsite office environment. Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM, 40 hours per week, with a scheduled one-hour lunch. Irregular hours may be required for community events.

Starting pay: $23.00–$25.50 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Answer insurance inquiries, explain product features and service advantages, and resolve customer complaints with management support when needed.
• Process insurance applications, renewals, policy changes, endorsements, transfers, billing updates, reinstatements, and cancellations.
• Prepare insurance quotes, apply underwriting rules and eligible discounts, complete sales, and identify cross-sell and referral opportunities.
• Process insurance and membership payments and conduct retention and outbound service calls regarding late premiums, delinquent memberships, and reinstatements.
• Maintain accurate member records, electronic information, filing systems, and general agency documentation.
• Support office events that generate insurance revenue, increase product awareness, and contribute to local community activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Property & Casualty Insurance license.
• Ability to qualify for, obtain, and maintain required state licenses and appointments.
• Ability to explain billing, coverage, rules, and procedures clearly and concisely.
• Knowledge of insurance terminology, regulations, underwriting procedures, sales compliance guidelines, and monetary transactions.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, perform outbound calls, and operate effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience servicing insurance policies and processing applications, renewals, amendments, and payments.
• Experience promoting insurance and membership products using established sales guidelines.
• Experience with insurance or membership systems such as PPS, POS, IMS, or IPM.

Hiring process
