Senior Scientist (Purification)

Location: Slough, United Kingdom; onsite 5 days a week

What you will do

• Design and execute laboratory-scale purification and primary recovery studies for process and technology development.
• Conduct chromatography and filtration experiments and analyse complex datasets.
• Evaluate and optimise primary recovery technologies to improve process efficiency and performance.
• Assess and implement emerging downstream processing technologies.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and scientific recommendations.
• Collaborate with Analytical, Upstream, and Manufacturing Science & Technology teams while maintaining data integrity, safety, and laboratory standards.

Requirements

• Degree in Biotechnology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline; postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
• Practical downstream processing laboratory experience, including chromatography and filtration.
• Strong data analysis skills and the ability to interpret complex datasets.
• Knowledge of DSP unit operations, process optimisation, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to design experiments and apply scientific principles to technical challenges.
• Strong communication, report-writing, collaboration, and attention to detail.
