Com'l Underwriting Manager

Location: Fully onsite in Spokane, Washington at 111 N Wall St Building, Spokane, WA 99201

Salary: $105,000–$165,000 per year, with potential performance-based incentive compensation

What you will do

• Oversee workflow management for commercial credit underwriting and loan portfolio management within an assigned market.
• Direct the timely and accurate preparation of credit authorizations, commitment letters, declinations, needs letters, and other credit work products.
• Review credit requests, make recommendations to Credit Administrators, and oversee servicing decisions for complex and deteriorating credits.
• Manage commercial loan portfolios, annual credit quality reviews, audit exceptions, and compliance with bank policies and applicable regulations.
• Hire, train, coach, and evaluate Credit Analysts, Commercial Underwriters, and Loan Portfolio Managers.
• Coordinate with Credit Administration, Internal Asset Review, Commercial Relationship Managers, Underwriters, and other internal partners.

Requirements

• 4–7 years of commercial underwriting, loan portfolio management, or related experience.
• 4–7 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
• Proficient knowledge of underwriting, loan documentation, appraisal, and closing processes.
• Advanced experience managing commercial loan portfolios and interpreting credit reports, financial statements, tax returns, financial ratios, tables, and charts.
• Strong leadership, analytical, mathematical, problem-solving, communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of SBA credit and environmental policies, SBA lending and eligibility standards, and SBA documentation.
• Experience with Word, Excel, T-Soft, and Filemaker Pro.
• Experience leading credit analyst internships for local university students.
