TL;DR
Senior Financial Analyst, Product Control (Capital Markets): Ensuring the integrity and timeliness of gross revenue, P&L reconciliation, and decomposition for Equity Derivatives and Equity Markets businesses with an accent on daily financial estimates, risk-factor analysis, and stakeholder collaboration. Focus on investigating complex derivative transactions, resolving control issues, and communicating detailed P&L drivers across Finance, Front Office, Risk Management, and Operations.

Location: Toronto-81 Bay, 26th Floor, with a hybrid arrangement requiring 1–3 days per week on-site

Employment: Full time, regular position; 37.5 hours per week

What you will do

  • Ensure the integrity and timeliness of gross revenue for management records and reporting.
  • Perform P&L reconciliation and decomposition against traders’ Same Day Estimates for Equity Derivatives and Equity Markets.
  • Decompose P&L by risk factors and explain the underlying drivers to Front Office, Risk Management, Finance, and other stakeholders.
  • Review and consolidate daily commentary and analysis for business partners.
  • Manage Daily Financial Estimates for a Capital Markets trading line of business and maintain an efficient control framework.
  • Coordinate issue resolution with Capital Markets CFO Group, Front Office, Global Operations, Finance, and Risk Management.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant Product Control experience.
  • Current accreditation and good standing in a CFA program at Level 2 or equivalent.
  • Experience with P&L reporting for complex or sensitive products and transactions.
  • Knowledge of derivative products, customized securities, cross-currencies, forwards, options, and vanilla and non-standard derivative transactions.
  • Strong critical and analytical thinking, sound judgment, communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada and able to provide a valid work or study permit where applicable.
