Senior Financial Analyst, Capital Markets Accounting

Location: Toronto, ON; hybrid work arrangement with 1–3 days per week on-site

What you will do

• Ensure accurate, complete, and timely accounting inputs and financial results for supported Capital Markets business units.
• Provide account attestations and substantiate balance sheet accounts in compliance with accounting and control standards.
• Investigate reporting methodologies and issues in collaboration with Front Office, CFO, Finance, Accounting Policy, External Reporting, Operations, Risk, and Technology teams.
• Implement accounting policy and requirement changes through controlled processes, process maps, and task manuals.
• Support transformational Finance activities, special projects, and strategic Capital Markets initiatives.

Requirements

• Current CPA accreditation in good standing or active progress toward a CPA designation.
• At least 3 years of accounting experience, ideally in Capital Markets accounting.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting requirements for financial instruments.
• Knowledge of interest rate products, customized bonds, money markets, cross-currency products, equity-linked derivatives, swaps, forwards, options, futures, and other derivative transactions.
• Strong analytical, investigative, communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.
• Legally eligible to work at the specified location and, where applicable, able to provide a valid work or study permit.

Nice to have

• CFA designation.
• Experience at a public accounting firm.
• Knowledge of equity derivatives.
• Exposure to Alteryx, PowerAutomate, or Tableau.
