What you will do

  • Conceptualize structural load paths, complex structures, and adjacent system packaging for Terran R.
  • Review static and dynamic loads, material properties, test data, and structural system requirements.
  • Analyze and size primary and secondary flight structures, including thrust structures, propellant tanks, interstages, and fairings.
  • Design components using NX and TeamCenter, perform analysis with Nastran, ANSYS, and hand calculations, and create and release drawings.
  • Develop and support hardware test campaigns, including test integration, operation, and evaluation of results.
  • Support manufacturing process development and fabrication while owning designs from requirements through production.

Requirements

  • 0–2+ years of experience in a design engineering role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
  • Experience with industry-standard CAD packages such as NX, Creo, or SolidWorks.
  • Working knowledge of structural analysis, finite element methods, industry analysis tools, and testing.
  • Fundamental knowledge of structural strength, stability, and fatigue failure mechanisms.
  • Fundamental knowledge of additive and traditional manufacturing processes, plus full life-cycle project ownership experience.

Nice to have

  • Extensive experience with NX and TeamCenter.
  • Expertise using Nastran and ANSYS.
  • Experience with GD&T and drafting.
