Senior Embedded Hardware Engineer (Defense and Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Dayton, Ohio, United States

Salary: $105,000–$150,000 per year plus bonus

What you will do

• Define system architectures, interfaces, requirements, and design alternatives for embedded systems.
• Design, develop, debug, test, and support new and existing embedded hardware.
• Design and review high-speed hardware, including schematics and layouts.
• Develop test procedures, execute verification testing, and perform detailed design analyses.
• Document user and design requirements, provide estimates and task breakdowns, and support process improvements.
• Mentor junior engineering staff and liaise with customers on technical matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent, with at least 10 years of experience.
• US citizenship is required.
• Strong knowledge of embedded hardware, processor systems, system engineering, requirements analysis, debugging, integration, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with hardware interfaces and buses including Ethernet, PCIe, PCI, Fibre Channel, I2C, SPI, and USB.
• Ability to read IC datasheets and board schematics and use diagnostic tools such as digital analyzers, oscilloscopes, and DVMs.
• Knowledge of validation and production test methodologies and Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice to have

• FPGA development with Verilog or VHDL.
• Hardware design experience with Altium.
• Cybersecurity and NIAP Common Criteria experience.
• Project management experience.
