Lead Embedded Software Engineer (Defense)

Location: Santa Clarita, California, United States — onsite

Salary: $108,900–$145,200 per year, plus potential bonus

What you will do

• Design, implement, test, debug, and maintain embedded software throughout the software lifecycle.
• Develop enhancements to existing embedded software and resolve software problems with technical staff.
• Interface with hardware development teams to resolve hardware bring-up issues.
• Prepare and maintain software planning, requirements, design, test, and user documentation.
• Participate in peer reviews and apply established software development and process-improvement practices.
• Address customer software complaints and evaluate requested modifications or enhancements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Software, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• At least four years of embedded software development experience.
• Proficiency in ANSI C and scripting languages such as Python.
• Experience developing software under Linux and RTOS environments such as VxWorks.
• Familiarity with DO-178C, MISRA C/C++, hardware/software integration, laboratory equipment, schematics, and component datasheets.
• Experience with BSP and device-driver development under Linux and VxWorks is preferred.

• Experience leading software development projects.
