TL;DR
R&D Engineer – Mechatronic Systems, Simulation & AI (Mechatronics, FEA and AI): Designing and analyzing mechatronic systems, mechanical and thermal hardware, electronics enclosures, and production tooling with an accent on simulation-driven engineering, system-level design, and root cause analysis. Focus on developing FEA models, correlating simulations with empirical data, applying AI to automate and optimize engineering workflows, and investigating hardware and system failures.

What you will do

  • Design components and assemblies for mechatronic systems, mechanical and thermal hardware, electronics enclosures, and production tooling.
  • Support system-level design involving servomotion, actuation, power, and integrated mechanical behavior.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, design margin assessments, analytical evaluations, and root cause investigations.
  • Develop and apply simulation models for structural, thermal, vibration, and durability analysis using FEA and related methods.
  • Apply simulation-driven insights and AI-enabled techniques to improve prediction accuracy, automate workflows, and optimize designs.
  • Collaborate with internal engineers, suppliers, and outsourced development partners while managing engineering changes and value engineering initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong fundamentals in mechanics of materials, kinematics, materials engineering, and mechanical and thermal material properties.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware, prototypes, testing, and failure investigation.
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD tools such as Creo Parametric or ProEngineer.
  • Understanding of FEA tools such as Altair HyperWorks or ANSYS, as well as Computational Fluid Dynamics.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with knowledge of material testing methods including fatigue and creep testing.

Nice to have

  • Interest or exposure to AI and ML concepts for predictive modelling, optimization, automated meshing, or generative engineering.
  • Programming skills in Python, C++, or MATLAB for simulation automation and data analysis.
