R&D Manager LEWA (Fluid Machinery)

Location: On-site in Dalian, China

LEWA, part of the hirify.global Group, manufactures diaphragm metering pumps, process pumps, complete metering systems, and plants.

What you will do

• Develop R&D plans, annual objectives, and multi-year product and technology roadmaps aligned with business strategy and market needs.
• Plan and lead new product development, upgrades, optimization, localization, and innovation projects for the Chinese market.
• Manage project initiation, technical and gate reviews, schedules, budgets, quality targets, risks, and mitigation actions.
• Lead R&D laboratory and test facility setup, operation, validation, and continuous improvement.
• Resolve key technical issues and improve design standards, specifications, development processes, and product compliance.
• Build and develop the R&D team, coach performance, strengthen technical capabilities, and coordinate with global teams, Germany, production, procurement, quality, sales, and service.

Requirements

• On-site availability in Dalian, China.
• At least 8 years of experience in mechanical or fluid equipment, including 5+ years managing R&D for pumps, valves, or compressors.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Machinery, Process Equipment, Energy and Power, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• English proficiency as a working language required.
• Strong knowledge of pump design, fluid machinery, mechanical structures, reliability design, material selection, manufacturing processes, and API, ISO, ANSI, and DIN standards.
• Experience with AC CtP processes, R&D budgeting and resource allocation, plus SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fluent/CFX, and ANSYS.

Nice to have

• Experience in European, American, international manufacturing, or multinational R&D organizations.
• Experience developing three- to five-year technology and product roadmaps.
