Staff Structures Engineer (Terran-R Vehicle)

What you will do

• Conceptualize structural load paths, complex structures, and adjacent system packaging for Terran R.
• Review static and dynamic load inputs, material properties, test data, and structural system requirements.
• Analyze and size primary and secondary flight structures, including thrust structures, propellant tanks, interstages, and fairings.
• Design components in NX and TeamCenter, perform analysis with Nastran, ANSYS, and hand calculations, and release engineering drawings.
• Develop and support hardware test campaigns, including test integration, operation, and result evaluation.
• Support fabrication and manufacturing process development while owning designs from requirements through production.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in a design engineering role.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Significant experience with industry-standard CAD packages such as NX, Creo, or SolidWorks.
• Working knowledge of structural analysis, finite element methods, engineering tools, and testing.
• Fundamental knowledge of structures strength, stability, and fatigue failure mechanisms.
• Experience with additive and traditional manufacturing processes and full lifecycle project ownership.

Nice to have

• 8+ years of mechanical or structural design and analysis experience.
• Extensive experience with NX and TeamCenter.
• Expertise with Nastran and ANSYS.
• Experience with GD&T and drafting.
