Senior Welding & Assembly Process Quality Engineer

Location: On-site five days per week in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico

What you will do

• Develop and improve complex welding and assembly processes for regular operations, new product development, and productivity initiatives.
• Define specifications, approval protocols, installation requirements, and equipment runoffs for welding-related capital equipment.
• Apply Six Sigma, DOE, A3, 9-Step Problem Solving, and 5-Why methods to identify root causes and resolve advanced process issues.
• Develop welding programs, inspection processes, fixtures, control plans, PFMEAs, JSAs, and ergonomic studies.
• Establish operator and setup certification programs based on AWS and other international welding standards.
• Lead PQA activities, auditors, setup personnel, continuous improvement initiatives, and performance improvement based on scrap, FPY, DPU, downtime, and efficiency indicators.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Mechatronics Engineering, Product Engineering, Quality, or a related field.
• 7–10 years of experience in welding and assembly processes as a manufacturing, process, or quality engineer.
• Experience with project management and team management.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, material flow, DMAIC, GD&T, Minitab, TPM, and AutoCAD.
• English proficiency at approximately 90% is required.
