Controls Project Engineer (HVAC)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, United States; onsite Monday through Thursday, with location flexibility on Fridays.

Annual base salary: $84,740–$118,860.

What you will do

• Design building automation and direct digital control systems for different building types.
• Review contracts, mechanical plans, specifications, estimates, equipment submittals, and job survey findings for system design.
• Create installation, submittal, and as-built drawings and transition documentation to field and service teams.
• Develop advanced sequences of operation and prepare operation and maintenance manuals.
• Support cost estimating, wiring and programming, electrical terminations, commissioning, graphics development, testing, and startup.
• Investigate customer concerns, implement corrective actions, and guide other engineers as needed.

Requirements

• Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, construction, engineering technology, or a related field; alternatively, 3+ years of HVAC project management or estimating experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Familiarity with HVAC systems, building automation systems, and temperature controls.
• Experience with a drafting or design program.
• Knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office.
• Understanding of industry-standard integration protocols, IT infrastructure, and network architecture.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and advise or guide other engineers.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of new construction, renovation and retrofit, performance contracting, and service project management.
• Understanding of applicable third-party control devices.
