Lead Systems Engineer (AWS)

Location: United States-focused role requiring Top Secret/SCI with Full Scope Poly clearance

Salary: $256,000–$280,000 per year, plus $64,000–$70,000 in immediately vested company 401(k) contributions

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and direct the daily work of two system administrators.
• Manage infrastructure across bare-metal servers, AWS environments, EC2, MASH, production systems, and development environments.
• Guide system architecture and setup in collaboration with software engineering teams.
• Maintain automation, monitoring, alerting, backups, disaster recovery, and system observability across development, staging, and production.
• Oversee GitLab CI/CD deployment automation, documentation, technical reviews, and post-mortems.
• Maintain RHEL9 Linux kickstart images and oversee system security and SSP accreditations.

Requirements

• Top Secret/SCI clearance with Full Scope Poly is required.
• At least 12 years of experience and a bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, or 16 years of experience in place of the degree.
• Strong Linux system administration experience, including RHEL9.
• Proficiency with Ansible, Semaphore, Terraform, Packer, Bash, and Python.
• Experience with Podman, Kubernetes, AWS services including EC2, S3, VPC, and IAM.
• Knowledge of SSP compliance, STE/STN, metrics and observability tools such as Kibana, Grafana, and Prometheus, plus database administration.

Nice to have

• Experience with NiFi dataflows and the Elastic Stack, including Logstash and Filebeat.
• Experience with graph databases, EKS, ECS, Lambda, and Secrets Manager.
• GitLab CI/CD, CNO, low-to-high development, or Cisco networking experience.
