Temporary Assembly Technician (Electronics)

Location: Onsite in Portland, Oregon at the PacStar OPS Center; physical attendance is required.

PacStar, a hirify.global company, designs, manufactures, and integrates hardware and software systems for rapidly deployable enterprise communications used in mission-critical environments.

What you will do

• Assemble and test electronic products containing hardware and software systems.
• Perform mechanical assembly of sheet-metal enclosures, install hardware, follow prints, and operate light machinery.
• Build cables, connectors, and simple electronic assemblies using sketches and informal documentation.
• Perform simple soldering, strip and tin wires, and wire solder cups in connectors.
• Conduct visual inspections, pre-test equipment, and cycle products through electronic and environmental testing equipment.
• Follow daily assignments and operations methods while adapting to changing priorities and coordinating with engineers and support functions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least three years of experience using assembly equipment and tools, including strippers, crimpers, cutters, soldering irons, screwdrivers, and drills.
• Ability to read drawings and wiring schematics and follow established procedures.
• Electromechanical assembly experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to solve problems independently.
• Previous experience using a Windows-based personal computer and the ability to work effectively with engineers and in a team environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, sit or stand for extended periods, work overtime, and manage multiple deadlines.
