Innovation Portfolio & Analytics Manager (AI)

Location: US-CA-Santa Clara; remote work option available. Travel required: 10%.

Salary: $133,120–$249,600 per year, plus eligibility for bonus, stock, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the enterprise R&D portfolio data and analytics capability from requirements and solution design through implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with R&D, PMO, Finance, IT, and business divisions to translate portfolio decisions and stakeholder needs into analytics and reporting capabilities.
• Design and enhance data models, integrations, pipelines, applications, dashboards, and automated workflows using Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Power Apps, and Power Automate.
• Develop portfolio analytics covering strategic alignment, portfolio balance, resource capacity, investment, value, cycle times, milestones, and risks.
• Prepare accurate analytical content for enterprise portfolio reviews and turn results into clear implications, options, and recommendations.
• Establish standards and operating practices for data quality, testing, releases, documentation, access management, training, support, and platform performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, information systems, data or analytics, computer science, or a related field.
• Typically 8+ years of relevant experience in business intelligence, analytics development, data solutions, portfolio systems, or related roles.
• Hands-on proficiency in Power BI, data schemas, semantic modeling, DAX, Microsoft Fabric, Power Apps, Power Automate, and advanced Excel modeling.
• Working proficiency in SQL for extraction, transformation, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Experience designing, deploying, supporting, and improving analytics solutions, data processes, workflows, and digital tools within enterprise architecture, security, governance, and compliance frameworks.
• Knowledge of project portfolio management principles and industrial R&D environments, plus the ability to drive adoption across a global, matrixed organization.

Nice to have

• Python or another scripting language and experience with ERP-sourced data such as SAP.
• Experience with Planisware, Planview, Clarity, or a comparable enterprise project portfolio management platform.
• Experience in life sciences, analytical instrumentation, chemicals, medical technology, or related industries.
• Experience implementing automated or agent-enabled enterprise workflows.
