Senior Engineer, Software Embedded Applications (UAV)

What you will do

• Develop high-quality C/C++ embedded software for X-BAT aircraft, emphasizing performance, reliability, and safety.
• Design and update software architectures, interfaces, and systems integrating avionics sensors, subsystems, and payloads.
• Integrate firmware, software verification, autonomy AI, and Ground Control Station software with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Design test systems for virtualized hardware and hardware-in-the-loop simulations.
• Build tools that improve software deployment, test execution, data analysis, and continuous integration workflows.
• Create prototypes, document technical designs and test plans, and report progress, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Strong embedded software development experience with C/C++ and modern object-oriented programming.
• Knowledge of embedded software, BSPs, computer architecture, operating systems, and network protocols.
• Experience owning development processes and features, shipping products, and delivering reliable solutions in fast-paced environments.
• Experience producing architecture documentation, detailed designs, and test plans.
• Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree in systems engineering, software engineering, computer science, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or another STEM discipline.
• Ability to obtain a S//SAR-level security clearance is desired.

Nice to have

• Experience in startup or R&D environments and military aircraft development.
• Experience with DO-178C compliance, RTOS, or FPGA development using SystemVerilog.
• Adaptability and the ability to innovate under pressure in dynamic project environments.
