Senior Flight Software Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Gardena, California, United States. ITAR eligibility is required: U.S. citizenship or nationality, U.S. lawful permanent residency, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility to obtain the required U.S. authorizations.

What you will do

• Design and develop real-time flight software architecture for autonomous aerospace systems.
• Integrate guidance, navigation, and control software with IMUs, GPS, seekers, cameras, radar, and other onboard sensors.
• Develop reliable interfaces with motor and actuation systems and communication buses including CAN, UART, and Ethernet.
• Build telemetry, logging, system health monitoring, and hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop testing infrastructure.
• Support flight tests, hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation across embedded microcontrollers and Linux flight computers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout software design, implementation, testing, and validation.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a flight software engineer.
• Strong C or C++ skills for performance-critical systems.
• Experience developing real-time or near-real-time software on Linux-based embedded platforms.
• Experience integrating sensors and working alongside guidance, navigation, and control teams.
• Experience with hardware bring-up, datasheets, bus debugging, system instrumentation, and flight-test troubleshooting.
• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
