Senior Software Engineer (CA)

What you will do

• Capture and finalize software requirements with flight test engineers, flight operations, pilots, and other stakeholders.
• Design, implement, integrate, and release safety-critical software for aircraft and airship systems.
• Develop simulation software requirements, design documentation, test reports, and comprehensive validation and verification test sets.
• Verify and validate software repeatability, reliability, quality, and timing requirements on the airship.
• Lead root-cause analysis, software change requests, merge requests, software reviews, and related engineering development activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support training activities.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in a similar Senior Software Engineer role.
• Professional experience with real-time operating systems and embedded systems development.
• Proficiency in C#, C++, RTOS, Python, scripting, and GitLab-based CI/CD build and release toolchains.
• Experience with software validation practices and standards, along with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Sunnyvale, California. Criminal background check and applicable drug test clearance are required, as well as the ability to obtain a NASA Moffett Federal Airfield AOA Badge.

Nice to have

• Experience with DO-178C or equivalent aviation standards.
• Experience with MCU, communications, sensor, actuator, PLC, and HMI interfaces.
• Experience with C or embedded C and cockpit, instrument cluster, or equipment UI development.
• Basic front-end and back-end software architecture experience.
