TL;DR
Factory Test Technical Specialist I (Aerospace) (Cryogenic, Pneumatic, and Hydraulic Systems): Designing, building, and operating test systems for rocket hardware in Long Beach with an accent on hazardous testing, real-time data control, and fluid-mechanical systems. Focus on identifying hazards, troubleshooting hardware reliability issues, and creating repeatable test plans and procedures.

Location: Long Beach, California, United States. First shift, Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. PT, with a structured 50-hour workweek including 10 guaranteed overtime hours weekly.

Salary: $33.80–$50.70 USD per hour.

hirify.global develops rockets and manufacturing systems, including the Terran R launch vehicle, to deliver customer payloads to orbit.

What you will do

  • Design, build, and operate pressurized cryogenic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems for rocket testing.
  • Develop and manage data control systems for real-time test monitoring and analysis.
  • Advise engineers on testing best practices, system capabilities, and operational limitations.
  • Identify and mitigate hazards during testing with multiple energy sources.
  • Create, maintain, and refine test plans and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot reliability issues and improve hardware performance and test efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of relevant technical experience.
  • Experience working with pressurized flight components.
  • Experience operating hazardous equipment with multiple energy sources.
  • Experience building complex fluid-mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, Slack, and other basic office software.

Nice to have

  • Associate degree or trade certification in a relevant discipline, such as aviation or automotive mechanics.
  • Knowledge of test automation, data acquisition, and control systems.
  • Knowledge of rocket engine and fluid-system components, including pumps, valves, regulators, check valves, actuators, and electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic valves.
