Manufacturing Engineer II - Test & Launch Structures (Aerospace): Developing and implementing manufacturing and integration solutions for rocket test and launch structures with an accent on structural fabrication, precision tooling, and cross-functional integration. Focus on leading full-cycle structural builds, coordinating vendors, achieving tight tolerances through in-field fabrication and metrology, and supporting proof testing.

Location: On-site in Cape Canaveral, Florida, United States. Successful candidates must pass a US government background check to obtain clearance for on-site work at a government partner location.

Salary: $104,000–$156,000 USD annually, plus equity.

What you will do

  • Evaluate and implement manufacturing and integration solutions for Test and Launch structures with design engineers.
  • Lead fabrication and integration efforts, including coordination with third-party vendors.
  • Own integration processes across structural builds, lifting and rigging, and proof testing.
  • Collaborate with fluids, civil, electrical, and mechanical teams to develop integration strategies.
  • Select manufacturing techniques and processes that meet design tolerances.
  • Provide input on and approve designs for manufacturability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting manufacturing activities involving structural builds, precision tooling, ground support equipment, or similar hardware.
  • Experience with CAD software such as NX, Creo, SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar tools.
  • Experience supporting partial or full life-cycle structural build projects, including lifting and rigging, integration, and proof testing.
  • Working knowledge of line boring, match drilling, milling operations, and metrology for achieving tight structural tolerances.
  • Ability to analyze technical issues, evaluate options, and support effective manufacturing or integration solutions.

Nice to have

  • 3+ years of experience in a partial or full life-cycle design engineering role.
  • Experience with AFSPCMAN 91-710 or similar range safety, launch, or aerospace compliance requirements.
  • Experience with Department of Defense, U.S. Air Force, NASA, or similar government or aerospace customers.
  • Experience designing, analyzing, or supporting fabrication of large steel, aluminum, or similar structural systems.
  • Experience with mechanical systems, mechanisms, moving assemblies, engineering drawings, or GD&T standards.
