TL;DR
Senior RF Hardware Engineer (RF electronics/aerospace): Designing and characterizing RF hardware for phased-array ground stations and satellite communications systems with an accent on amplifiers, filters, antennas, and electromagnetic simulation. Focus on RF performance tradeoffs, integrated system troubleshooting, reliability, manufacturability, and test automation.

Location: Torrance, California, United States. U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected individual status, or eligibility for required U.S. Department of State authorizations is required under ITAR regulations. A Top Secret Security Clearance must be obtained and maintained.

Salary: $140,000–$226,000 annually, depending on level. Equity, performance bonuses, and benefits are also offered.

What you will do

  • Design RF electronics hardware for next-generation products and improve existing designs for reliability, performance, and manufacturability.
  • Create electromagnetic simulation models for amplifiers, filters, and PCB layouts.
  • Build and characterize RF circuits, including LNAs, filters, power amplifiers, power circuitry, and digital controls.
  • Influence ground network and portal design through RF performance tradeoffs.
  • Collaborate with electrical, RF, mechanical, manufacturing, and software engineers to characterize and troubleshoot integrated RF system performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of RF design experience across circuits, filters, or antennas.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • Eligibility to work with U.S. space technology under ITAR regulations.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when needed.

Nice to have

  • RF line-up design involving non-linearity, noise, output power, and blocker or jammer tolerance.
  • Power amplifier, LNA, and filter design experience.
  • Point-of-load converter bring-up and I2C/SPI digital interface experience.
  • Knowledge of EVM, noise figure, IIP2, IMD, power handling, impedance matching, amplifier stability, and cascaded network analysis.
  • Python or another programming language for data analysis and test automation.
